This week we welcome Caitlin Trainor, Artistic Director of Trainor Dance and Founder of Dancio. Named one of the 25 to watch in 2016 by Dance Magazine, Caitlin is a performer, choreographer, and a member of the faculty at Barnard College. Caitlin fell in love with dance and choreography during her time in college at Skidmore, where she became determined to carve out a career for herself in the field. And indeed she did. She has been prolific in the field ever since, founding her own company, Trainor Dance, in 2011. Last year Caitlin launched her newest venture, Dancio, a website that offers on-demand videos of ballet classes with some of the best teachers in the world. Today we talk with Caitlin about how she came to love dance, how she pursed her dream of a career in dance, and founding her own company. We find out more about Dancio: how the idea came about, and what she sees in it’s future.
